The third annual Heart Health and Black History Month discussion panel will take place Wednesday, Feb. 26, from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. in the Mountainlair Gluck Theater.

The event is free and open to the public. The panel will focus on the prevention of cardiovascular disease, heart attack, stroke, depression and how mental health affects heart health and spiritual wellness.

Panelists include:

Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiologist, Indiana Reginal Medical CenterEric Murphy, MA, Mental Health Specialist at the WVU Center for Excellence in DisabilitiesKisstaman Epps, MA, Area Health Education Center Scholars ManagerLaMeekiaa Horton, APRN, FNP-BC, Nurse Practitioner, Fairmont Medical CenterFanica Payne, MSW, Online Instructor in the WVU School of Social WorkSarah DeFazio MD Candidate, Class of 2025, WVU School of MedicineQ&A will take place following the discussion portion of the event. This discussion panel is presented by the Health Sciences Technology Academy Alumni Association, Minority Association of Pre-healthcare Students, Student National Medical Association and the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority® Gamma Chi Omega & Eta Omicron Chapters.
