Coming to Morgantown WV. at The Encore, 2 nationally touring artists that have joined forces to create a special rocking blues concert/event – Billboard chart topping artist The Alex Lopez Xpress(ALX) AND Sweetone recording artist Memphis Lightning. Thursday April 24th at 7PM
Together it’s called the Lightning Xpress tour: Two bands, one stage, one electrifying concert experience…and it’s wowing audiences everywhere! The bands blend seamlessly throughout the show to perform songs together and separately in a non-stop 2 1/2 concert
Opening set by Jim Truman
Jim is a native of Morgantown, West Virginia, who spent 12 years in the mountains of Colorado. During this time, he traveled as a stand-up comic, performing in night clubs and ski resorts all over the US. He has performed for the WV Legislature, the US Capitol and as a guest multiple times on public radio’s “Music from the Mountains”. His rendition of “The West Virginia Hills” is on a CD that includes Larry Groce, Ron Sowell and Julie Adams of Mountain Stage and Tim O’Brien formerly of Hot Rize. In addition to originals, he sings a wide range of folk, blues, rock, jazz, slide and classic country.

The band, which includes Grammy-nominated Big Red and members “The Rock” and “Mr. Mayhem,” is celebrated for their fusion of styles reminiscent of Danny Gatton, Roy Buchanan, David Bowie, and Mick Jagger.
