November Hike of the Month

Sunday, November 2, 2025, 9 am – Coopers Rock State Forest, meeting at the gravel parking lot (39.636925, -79.813512). Please look for me on the left side of the road. Directions: Take I-79 south of the Pittsburgh area. After entering West Virginia, in 11 miles, use the right 2 lanes to take exit 148 for I-68 E toward Cumberland. Then travel east for 14.5 miles to exit 15, Coopers Rock State Forest, 61 County Line Dr, Bruceton Mills, WV 26525. We are meeting at the gravel parking area, just before the overlook’s paved parking area, where the gift shop is located. It is 2.9 miles from where you turn right off the I-68 ramp to the stone parking area. Please note that there is parking on both sides of the park road. We are meeting in the furthest parking area on the left. We will start promptly at 9 am. Hiking Underlook, Rock City, Rattlesnake Trails, and to Raven Rock Overlook. 7 miles, 3.5 hours. Approximately 3 miles of this hike are challenging; bring a hiking stick, water, and a snack.
