Pediatric Project DOCC (Delivery of Chronic Care) Workshop

Pediatric Project DOCC (Delivery of Chronic Care) is a virtual, two-hour workshop that gives learners the opportunity to work in teams with students of other disciplines to better understand the issues involved in providing care for a child with special health care needs and the importance of putting the family at the center of the health care system.

Objectives

Understand the challenges families face with children/youth with special health care needs (CYSHCN).Validate the importance of active listening in patient- and family-centered care.Compare the ideal and the reality of the medical home as experienced by these families.Explore the importance of the roles professions play in collaborative practice.Practice communication skills to become comfortable speaking with patients and families.
